T.O.R.C.H. is a traveling educational theatre collective of historical storytellers committed to exploring our common American heritage by illuminating the historical battles between the American ideal that we are all created equal and the harsh reality of racism that continues to separate us. Through performance literacy, we torch the old narrative and light the way towards re-envisioning the history, racist perspectives/images that play in our head. Using historical documentation, events and language we set forth to Re-image -Re-see—come out of the darkness! By engaging our audiences to participate in civic dialogue about contemporary issues of racial injustice we seek to deepen and re-envision a more unified society.
